Director of Orchestral Studies
Oversee all aspects of the Orchestral Studies program, rehearse/perform with University Symphony and Chamber Orchestra (if applicable), teach undergraduate conducting courses, teach graduate level conducting courses, conducting seminar, score reading and analysis, and symphonic literature. Mentorship of graduate conducting students in their respective recitals and final projects/thesis. Other responsibilities may be assigned as departmental need and load dictate.
Terminal degree in music required (DMA, DA, or PhD). Candidates who are ABD with May/August 2025 graduation will be considered. Candidates for the position must clearly demonstrate a record of excellence in conducting, teaching, and student mentorship of graduate students and large ensemble members.
First date of consideration is October 21, 2024, and review of applications will continue until the position is filled. All applicants are required to complete a Missouri State University Application for Employment.
