1890s cello by J. Thibouville-Lamy in maroon Gewa carbon fibre case with Neudorfer bow.

Stolen: 12 Oct 2022 - Early hours - Elmington Road, Camberwell SE5

Description of Instrument:
c. 1890s French cello by Jérôme Thibouville Lamy, Mirecourt, with a Neudorfer bow and bridge by J. P. Guivier & Sons, in a maroon carbon fibre Gewa case with two reflective strips on the front and no rucksack straps on the back (pictured). The instrument was taken from outside my house on Elmington Road, Camberwell, London, in the early hours of 12th October after being left briefly unattended. As can be seen from the attached photos, the scroll has a small chip on the top left hand side (as you look at the instrument), and the seam/lining between the upper bout and front on the left hand side (as you look at it) has been shaven off/worn down to form almost a straight line of around 3cm. This was revarnished by J. P. Guiver & Sons in 2017 when the cello underwent extensive repairs following an accident. The crime reference number is 3030835/22. The items are insured with Allianz, policy number 80111355, claim number XALZ516602.
