Beautiful old German Cello c1850.
Price: £5000
Beautiful old German cello appraised c1850-possibly older.
Price £5000 NB, this is a very competitive price for a lovely old instrument that has been appraised at £9000.

LOB 73 cm and a slightly narrower body , so a "ladies cello"- 4/4 size with a string length of 69cm. It is a Stainer model with extremely high arching.
This cello has been well-maintained and looked-after across the ages. I have receipts and it has some labels inside. Previous repairs have been done excellently by reputable European luthiers in Belgium and France.
It has a top quality bridge and sound post fitted and some new strings (Versum Solo Strings) and has been checked by a luthier before selling, to confirm that it has no sound post or bass bar cracks.
It has a lovely top register and mellow, even sound. It does need plenty of playing-in as it has been my spare cello.
