Cello:

French Cello (ca. 1750-1760)

Price: 40000€
This exceptional cello was—according to Rampal—built by an anonymous luthier in France between 1750 and 1760. The top is made of beautifully flamed bearclaw spruce, a high-quality tonewood that gives the instrument its distinctive sound quality.

The sound is extraordinarily rich and expressive: the bass is powerful and resonant, while the upper register shines with a silvery sweetness and excellent projection. It has been played and cherished by a Principal Cellist—an instrument with character, ideal for musicians seeking depth and tonal color.

The cello is in very good condition. A new bridge and soundpost were recently installed to ensure the best possible sound development.
