Violin:

Nicolas, Didier L`Aine, gen. Le Sourd 1757 to 1833 Mirecourt.

Price: 9000EUR
This beautiful violin presents an example of his highest quality instruments and was made by him between 1800 and 1820.
Not comparable to the later workshop work of his many employees. Excellent sound, balanced in all registers, easy response and great tone. The one-piece back has a beautiful, regular flaming pattern. The top is made of strongly grained hazel spruce. Overall, the violin is in very good condition.
Below the upper right F-hole are two small, barely visible, well-repaired cracks with internal reinforcement. The lower right F-hole has an insignificant repaired crack towards the edge. There is a moderately repaired crack on the inside of the back (in the middle) that does not extend to the outside. Beautiful dark red varnish is original in many areas.
