Contemporary English double bass by Jonathan Glithero. The internal label reads "Jonathan Glithero 1990 e Violin Maker." Violin outline, flat back with angled break and mechanical C extension. Measurements are:
LOB 106cm
String Length 106cm
Lower Bout 68cm
C Bout 36cm
Upper Bout 52cm
Rib Depth 23cm reducing to 18cm at neck
This would make a great orchestral bass. I played it professionally for 26 years in the orchestra of English National Opera. It has a well rounded deep tone which is even across all four strings and which projects very well..
The instrument is currently at Thwaites instrument shop in Bushey, Hertfordshire near to Bushey Station and the M1 and M25 motorways..
