Alto Saxophone Excerpts:
1. Jaques Ibert | Concertino da Camera; Movement I: Allegro con moto [entire movement to be recorded with piano]
2. Percy Grainger | Molly on the Shore [m.27-42]
3. Georges Bizet | L’Arlesienne Suite No.1 [rehearsal E – m. 107]
Tenor Saxophone Excerpts:
1. John Phillip Sousa | Hands Across the Sea [take second endings]
2. Percy Grainger | Colonial Song [beginning to m. 12]
3. David Maslanka | Symphony No. 7; Movement I [m.99-113]
Live round excerpts will be sent to selected candidates via email.
Your resume should include education, performance/work/teaching experience, and references.
Your cover letter should augment your resume, describing what additional skills you bring to the position beyond playing saxophone. This might include skills in arts administration, arranging, audio mixing/engineering, other instrument/vocal proficiencies, marketing, computer skills (graphics/video editing/Microsoft Office/other), etc.
Job Description
The West Point Band is a U.S. Army premier band whose main duty is to perform for local, national, and international audiences in support of the West Point community, the U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Army.+
Play tenor saxophone with the West Point Band’s concert band and marching band; play other saxophones as needed performing in classical and commercial styles.
