Cello (tutti) in Opera Plovdiv, Bulgaria

State Opera - Plovdiv announces an audition for a full-time position for cello (tutti) orchestra players with a minimum of 1 year contract (6 months paid trial), with possible extension.

Requirements for applicants:
1.. Completed higher or secondary music education.
2. Experience and practice in ensemble music making.

The audition will take place on 3.10.2024 and 4.10.2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chamber Hall, House of culture "Boris Hristov", Plovdiv.

Audition repertoire:
1. J. S. Bach-solo suite for violoncello Prelude or fast and slow part
2. Concert of choice – 1 (with cadenza) or 2nd and 3rd parts from:

- Haydn - C dur, D dur
- Tchaikovsky -Variations on a Rococo
- Saint-Saens
- Schumann
- Elgar
- Dvorak

Orchestral excerpts:
R. Strauss - Symphonic poem "Don Juan"
Beethoven - Symphony No. 5, Part 2
S. Prokofiev - Romeo and Juliet
Verdi - Don Carlos, 3 Act No. 11
Verdi - "Aida", act 3
Verdi - "Requiem" - Offertorio

Sheet music of orchestral excerpts will be provided upon request.
All works are performed with piano accompaniment.
