Cello Courses by the Sea

We are pleased to bring back our popular cello course to Musicfest, an opportunity to work intensively with Kari Ravnan on all aspects of cello playing. Teaching will take the form of individual lessons, workshops, discussions and performance classes. Participants should bring at least two contrasting works and some studies that they wish to work on. Kari would like to receive an indication of intended repertoire well before the start of the course. They will also be time for individual daily practice, which will be an integral part of the course. Cellists will also be assigned to chamber groups.
The course will be led by Kari Ravnan. Kari plays with the Oslo Philharmonic, is Artistic Director of the Horten Chamber Music Fest. and Prometheus Ensemble in London and Borealis Ensemble in Oslo. She has taught at the Trondheim Music Conservatory and since 2008 at the Barratt Due Institute of Music. She has a special interest in teaching chamber music.
