Music Programmer

As a Music Programmer (Writer), you will play a critical role in crafting compelling music programs, conducting repertoire research, and collaborating with musicians, composers, and the Artistic Director. Key Responsibilities:
• Program Development: Curate diverse and engaging performance seasons, balancing traditional and contemporary works with themes that resonate with audiences.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Artistic Director, Music Arranger, and musicians to ensure repertoire aligns with the orchestra’s vision and capabilities.
• Cultural Integration: Incorporate Arabic classical music into programming, celebrating the UAE’s cultural identity while engaging with global musical traditions.
• Research & Innovation: Explore and introduce new composers, works, and trends to enhance the orchestra’s artistic profile.
• Outreach: Collaborate on educational and community initiatives, deepening audience engagement through pre-concert talks and cultural discussions.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Education: A degree in Music, Musicology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in orchestral programming, music writing, or a similar role. Familiarity with Arabic and Western classical traditions is highly desirable.
• Skills: Strong organizational and creative vision, with the ability to balance traditional repertoire and innovative musical expressions.
