Co-principal timpani
The Oslo Philharmonic, under the leadership of Chief Conductor Klaus Mäkelä, invites highly qualified candidates to apply for the position of Co-Principal timpani with obligation to percussion. We are looking for a dedicated orchestral musician who is willing to invest in and actively contribute to our orchestra's inner life and its continued artistic development.
Candidates are invited to apply with a CV, letter of interest and a recent video recording (for content see the application page below; the excerpts can also be sent to applicants as soon as an application has been made). The timpani and percussion excerpts can be recorded and uploaded in two separate takes; the excerpts should be performed in the order they are listed and printed below.
The deadline for applications is March 31st 2025.
Qualified candidates will be invited to audition in Oslo, with invitations to be sent by April 10th 2025. Orchestral excerpts will be sent to all invited candidates on this date.
The audition will take place June 1st 2025, and with a final orchestra round for qualified candidates June 2nd 2025 at the Oslo Concert Hall.
