Assistant Conductor
$60,000 - $65,000 p/year

Are you an emerging conductor with a passion for artistic leadership, education, and community engagement? The Oregon Symphony is seeking an Assistant Conductor to support our Music Director’s artistic vision and contribute to the Symphony’s performances and programs. This vital role provides musical leadership in rehearsals and concerts while actively engaging with audiences, students, and stakeholders to expand the Symphony’s impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as cover/assistant conductor for all Classical Series and Classical Specials.
• Lead rehearsals and performances for assigned concerts, including Youth, Family, Film, Pops, and community engagement concerts.
• Collaborate with Artistic Planning and Education teams to develop programming for diverse audiences.
• Represent the Symphony in education and community engagement activities, working with students, educators, and donors.
• Support communications, marketing, and fundraising efforts.
• Assist with reviewing new scores, recordings, and artistic programming.
This is a full-time, salaried position for a three-year term commencing August 2025 (in the 2025-26 season).
