Position of Co-Principal Horn
Iceland Symphony Orchestra announces an open position of co-principal horn. An audition will take place on March 12th, 2025, at Harpa Concert Hall, Reykjavík.
Application deadline is February 3rd 2025.
Solo works
W. A. Mozart, Horn Concerto No. 4, K. 495, 1st Movement with Cadenza.
Richard Strauss, Horn Concerto No. 1, Op. 11, 1st Movement.
Audition repertoire
Orchestral excerpts, with indicated passages to be played, will be sent by e-mail to applicants as soon as their application is approved, along with details regarding the location and time of the audition.
The application deadline is February 3rd, 2025. A formal application form is not required; applications can be submitted by sending an email, along with copies of diplomas and curriculum vitae, to the Human Resources Director at starf@sinfonia.is.
About the position
The vacant position is full-time co-principal horn at Iceland Symphony Orchestra. The ISO horn section consists of five members. A university-level education in instrumental performance is required. Salary and benefits are subject to wage agreements between the association of ISO players and the Ministry of Finance. Applicants from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) need to apply for a work permit, which is subject to approval by the Association of Icelandic Musicians (FÍH) and the Directorate of Immigration.
