Preliminary round of auditions is scheduled for November 10-11, 2024. The Semi-Final round is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 12. The Final round is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 3.
Taped excerpts may be requested at the discretion of the Audition Committee and will be due Monday, Monday, October 14, 2024. Directions for submitting recordings will be communicated with the request for recording.
There are two (2) Section Viola positions available. Note additional tenure-track or one-year positions may be offered as the result of this audition. Positions begin January 27, 2025, or by the mutual agreement of the PSO and winning candidate, but no later than September 1, 2025. Minimum rates for the 2024-2025 season are to be determined; for the 2023-2024 season minimum orchestra weekly scale is $2,082.92, and the annual Electronic Media Guarantee is $2,072.40. The PSO schedule has ten (10) collective vacation weeks for members each season, paid at the same rate as work weeks.
