1st principal cello

We have an open position for
1st PRINCIPAL CELLO

The audition will take place on Tuesday 27th of August 2024 at 10am at Musiikkikeskus Snellman, Vingenkatu 18, Kokkola, Finland. The position will be filled from the 4th of November 2024 or by arrangement.

REPERTOIRE
- Joseph Haydn: Cello Concerto No 2 in D major op. 101, 1st movement with cadenzas and 2nd movement
- One of the following concertos from the romantic era: Antonín Dvořák: Cello Concerto in B minor, op. 104, B 191 (1st movement) or Robert Schumann: Cello Concerto in A major, op. 129 (1st movement)
- One movement (other than Prelude) from one of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Solo Cello Suites no 1-4
- Orchestra and chamber music excerpts which can be requested from 5th of August onwards from emilia.otava@kamariorkesteri.fi

APPLICATIONS
Closing date for applications is Thursday 15th of August 2024 at 12 pm.
Applications to be sent to emilia.otava@kamariorkesteri.fi. Applications should include a CV with contact information. Applicants must also mention the repertoire of their choice. An accompanist will be provided by the orchestra if requested by applicant.

The orchestra will invite auditionees on the basis of applications. Late applications will not be considered. The audition may also include an interview.
