String Instructor

The Illinois Symphony Orchestra is seeking string instructors to be part of a rapidly growing program and string culture in Springfield, Illinois. In recent years, we have seen an enormous expansion of our strings programs, setting off an exponential chain reaction of growing awareness, excitement, and market demand for qualified string teachers.

Adding to this trend has been the founding of the UIS String Academy at the University of Illinois-Springfield, which provides group string instruction on Saturday mornings. As the home of a professional orchestra (the Illinois Symphony Orchestra), and situated amongst a rich ecosystem of other regional orchestras, Springfield also offers numerous performing opportunities to the string professional. With its recent rapid growth in strings involvement, Springfield offers an incoming teacher the opportunity to swiftly develop a large private studio. As the seat of the Illinois state capital, a thriving medical hub, and an international tourist destination, renowned for its Abraham Lincoln, Route 66, and Frank Lloyd Wright sites, Springfield is a culturally rich, fun, and affordable home for a young professional.
