Viola body size 44.1cm with distinct Italian features. The old instrument is rather large, hasn’t been cut down as most violas from 18th Century making it very rare. On the back of the instrument you can see two little wooden nail like buttons (pic attached), one above to the brass chin rest support, the other just under the neck. Other distinct features are the rather sharp corners of the instrument, a little bit resembling Venetian school. Orange varnish on amber like background. The instrument had been recently supplied with a carbon fibre sound-post (visible to specialists through the f-holes) which is quite a distinctive feature to look for. * Dimensions (Height/Width): Lenght of back 441, Width upper bout 210, width middle bout 165, width lower bout 225.
