This violin clearly shows that Otto Möckel was not only one of the most respected violin makers of his time, but also a particularly skilled copyist! Anyone who has ever held a few Andrea Guarneri originals in their hands will be amazed! The varnish, the contour drawing, and above all, the elegant and distinctive arching of the Cremonese master are all recreated with attention to detail.

The quality of the tone is also pleasingly consistent. True to the model and the arching, the violin sounds not only delicate, but also completely seamlessly balanced from top to bottom. Despite the relatively delicate model, the lower range is rich and full-sounding, the middle is tenor, and the top end is silvery and round.
