Nordic Chamber Orchestra – Co-Principal Horn

The Nordic Chamber Orchestra, a part of Scenkonst Västernorrland, is looking for a co-principal horn for the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and the Nordic Wind Quintet.

As a horn player in the Nordic Chamber Orchestra, you will be employed as a full-time musician, with current distribution as follows: 60% in the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and 40% in the Nordic Wind Quintet. As a member of the Nordic Wind Quintet, you will also participate in planning chamber music productions and perform for audiences of all ages, including children, youth, and the elderly. Therefore, strong verbal communication skills with colleagues and audiences are required.

The Nordic Chamber Orchestra and its ensembles are part of Musik Västernorrland’s regional music activities, which include touring in the Västernorrland region.

We are looking for a musician with higher education in music and professional-level experience in orchestral and ensemble performance.

Audition
The audition will take place on June 4–5, 2025, at Tonhallen and Musik Västernorrland’s facilities in Sundsvall. A personal invitation will be sent to the email address provided in your application no later than May 2, 2025, along with sheet music and detailed information. A pianist will be provided for the audition. Please note that travel and accommodation expenses will not be reimbursed.
