Dirigierakademie is thrilled to present a workshop focusing on foundational conducting knowledge and technique. This workshop is perfect for those who would like to gain experience working with orchestral musicians, to expand their repertoire, and to learn more about the industry.

For this course, we have invited Maestro Matthew Lynch, Fellow Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. This course will take a step-by-step approach to conducting: silent conducting, working with string quintet + piano, lecture/small-group sessions with video analysis and personalized feedback to prepare for conducting with a full orchestra on the final day of the course.

A maximum of 14 participants will be selected. This course will focus on the first two movements of three symphonies representing different conducting challenges.

Each participant will have at least 35 minutes of podium time and the opportunity to conduct a full symphony orchestra.
