Heinrich Th. Heberlein Jr, Guarnerius copy 1921 (or 1929)
Stolen: 21 Aug 2014 - Between 16/08/2014 and 23/08/2014 unknown time. - Amherst, Massachusetts
There were also two bows: H.R. Pfretzschner and G.A Pfretzschner.
Both silver mounted. The H.R. was a bit heavier (no gram weights for either) and G.A. had a slight bend and the bone end of the tip was broken off.
Description de l'instrument:
Heinrich Th. Heberlein Jr, Guarnerius copy 1921 (or 1929)
Lighter amber wood (photo 3 closest in color- other two are old reprocessed appearing darker) with a smallish, but deep multi-part (old) scrape on the upper left front almost looks like a gear or something similar fell on it (see Photo 2 for approximate location). No notable scratches elsewhere on body. Scroll has black highlight around it (chipped off in places also continuing along the peg box). Dark brown tailpiece with a small plastic piece with a magnet for a ‘quick’ mute and only one fine-tuner for the e-string. Bridge will show marring/scraping from a heavy practice mute. Back side is a two piece flamed maple and I seem to recall some slight discoloration somewhere on the back.
