Stolen in France: Viola "Jakob Petz Geigenmacher zu Vils Tyrol 1723"
Stolen: 20 Aug 2014 - between 12:45 and 13:15 - Labenne 40530 (FRANCE)
The theft happened in southwest-france near the spanish boarder/basque country.
Perhaps the instrument will be offered in spain.

body measuring 41,5cm
dark brown varnish,
neck reset and grafted
Instrument has some characteristic (repaired) cracks:
in the soundboard near the f-hole
in the rib (one spot formed like a rhombus is repaired with bright shining wood)
