Stolen 2 violins, English c.1830 and c,1780

Stolen: 26 Feb 0015 - 3.30pm - Chewton Mendip, near Wells

Description de l'instrument:
Both violins stolen near Wells, Somerset on 26 Feb. 2013 in double case. The circa 1730 violin has a one piece back and one piece front and is covered in a fairly thick orange/brown varnish, possibly by a member of the Fendt family. The c.1780 violin also has a one piece back and is highly arched. The violin is covered with a golden brown varnish of fine texture. Reminiscent of the work of Lockey Hill or John Johnson. Both violins are unlabelled and were in an old black double case with red interior
