Cello:

Late 19th Century German Cello, 4/4

Prix: £13,000, or best offer
This late 19th century German cello, recently restored and professionally set up, would be suitable instrument for chamber musicians and orchestral players alike.

Comfortable to play, it speaks easily with a warm, balanced and resonant tone.

The original woodworking was carried out with outstanding craftsmanship and the varnish is of rich, deep red-to-orange colours. An attractive patina has developed over the years in which it has been played and loved. The front and back have no historic cracks, and following some minor repairs to the ribs the instrument is strong and stable

The new set-up includes a new bridge, sound post, pegs, strings (Evah Pirazzi Solo), a lightweight carbon fiber end-pin, and the fingerboard has been resurfaced. The cello has also been cleaned and lightly retouched.

For a deposit, the cello may be taken on approval for up to two weeks free of charge. A bow, case and any other accessories may be provided on request.
Certification: Length of back: 760mm String length: 690mm Certificate may be provided upon purchase.
