Musical Director
An opportunity exists to work in a unique and challenging environment within the Band of the South Australia Police, which is located at the Gepps Cross Police Complex, Corner Briens Road and Grand Junction Road.
The Musical Director is the musical and artistic director of the 32-piece Band, and subsidiary ensembles within the band, and is responsible for musical selection, conducting the Band in rehearsals and performances including concerts, ceremonies, ceremonial parades, and other performances as directed. The Musical Director is accountable to the Band and Corporate Events Unit Coordinator and works very closely with the Band Master and Drum Major.
Special Conditions:
The Musical Director is required to wear a police uniform whilst performing but will not represent themselves as a police officer to any person as a result of any act or statement.
All band personnel are shift workers and required to perform duties on various shifts, including weekends and evenings when commitments require. Out of hours work may be required. Intra/interstate and overseas travel may be required.
The Successful candidate will be required to reside in South Australia for the duration of the contract and must hold current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
Auditions will be held at the ABC Building, Collinswood South Australia at a date to be determined.
Salary:
ASO6 $98,478 - $104,165 per annum.
An attraction allowance additional to base remuneration may be offered to the eligible successful candidate. Attraction/retention allowances are subject to regular review.
