Instrumental Tutor (Trombone)
Chetham’s School of Music is seeking an Instrumental Tutor (Trombone) to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in Manchester city centre. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English-speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.
The Job
We are seeking an exceptional tutor of trombone with proven pedagogical experience at the highest of standards. You will be committed to the education and development of exceptionally talented young people.
Primarily focusing on 1-2-1 tuition of 1st and subsidiary study students (aged 8-18) the ideal candidate will have a significant depth of experience in developing students’ holistic musical education. Preferred candidates would also have experience of chamber coaching and working with students to an advanced level in small and medium sized ensembles.
Recognised professional level of performance experience is required for this role.
Chetham’s believes in creating robust, rounded and relevant musicians of the future. We value tutors who share our aim to support students in achieving musical and personal breadth, in tandem with technical proficiency.
Candidates will need to be flexible with regards to average working hours. Hours for this role are likely to start on a part-time, ad-hoc basis. Hours are allocated annually based upon student intake and therefore subject to annual variance.
Start date September 2025 subject to recruitment checks.
