'A Meeting of Artistry and the Refinement of French Orchestral Repertoire'

The Cascais & Oeiras Chamber Orchestra proudly announces the 6th International Academy and Competition of Orchestra Conducting, to take place at the Cascais Conservatory of Music in Portugal from July 20-26, 2025. The Academy includes an international competition for young conductors. The International Academy comprises this year of the superior level, which is geared towards more experienced conductors or composers interested in broadening their skills and knowledge, while further developing their competencies as orchestra conductors. The repertoire includes: M. Ravel – Mother Goose Suite, J. Ibert – Concertino da Câmara for Alto Sax and Orchestra, C. Debussy (orchestrated by I. Farrington) – La Mer. All participants will enjoy high quality work in a supportive environment under the guidance of two experienced conductors/pedagogues with a professional orchestra.
