"Violin Teaching Artist"

$40,000 - $45,000 p/year
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of individual students and promote musical development.
- Prepare students for performances, examinations, and other musical activities.
- Assess students’ progress and provide feedback and support to enhance their musical skills.
- Collaborate with school staff and participate in music-related events and activities.
- Maintain records of students' attendance, progress, and achievements.
- Participate with local performances both in collaboration with partners, and with the Itasca Symphony Orchestra.
- Support with student recruitment at community events.
- Maintain effective communications between school personnel, parents and staff.
- Assist with coordination of lesson and ensemble schedule and student performances.
- Teach students performance etiquette and ensemble skills, both in socially and musicality.
- Ability to work with and teach individuals of all ages, ability levels and learning styles

Qualifications:
Required
- Master’s degree in music performance; Degrees in Music Education are accepted.
- Proven experience in teaching violin, with the ability to also teach viola, cello, and/or bass highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate young musicians.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a flexible schedule.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to commute to multiple teaching locations.

Preferred
- Proven success in teaching small groups, including leading sectionals or coaching chamber music ensembles, from beginner to high school levels.
- Background in working with or for a community music school, youth orchestra, or similar organization in a teaching or administrative role.
- Demonstrated ability to attract and engage beginner students for private lessons or classroom instruction.
- Experience creating dynamic and appealing concert programs for young audiences.
