French Double bass c. 1890

This lovely French instrument has been in my hands since 1983. I am ending my playing career so selling both my basses. This would make a wonderful instrument for a college student or a player entering the profession. It would also play well as a jazz instrument, or make a great second instrument. (I have orchestral Pirastro Flexocore strings on currently.) My repairer has identified this bass as a J T Lamy. There is no label, but this puts the date at around 1870 (I can't change the date on the title page). It was originally 3 strings - you can see where the fourth has been added on the scroll. There are two scratched names of previous owners on the side (I haven't added mine!).
Measurements are: stop 105.5cm (41.5 ins)
