A beautiful English violin by Lockey Hill, made in London c.1780.
It bears an original label which reads “Made & Sold by Longman & Broderip, No.6 Cheapside & No. 13 Haymarket, London”.
This instrument is in excellent, restored condition and has been played professionally for the last five years. It has a very sweet and velvety sound, which is full of charm and character, and plenty of volume. A versatile instrument which serves well both in orchestral and chamber music settings.
