About the role

Following the needs of the artistic programme, the definitions of ENB’s house agreement with The Musicians’ Union and working to the priorities set by the Music Director, Principal Trombone or Music Administration Manager, the postholder will perform consistently to the highest standards in rehearsal and performances, and as Principal Trumpet when required.

Our touring schedule includes London, regional venues in the UK and may include touring abroad. Other events may be arranged to support the work of the Engagement Department.

Key Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate these qualities and experience:

Proven track record of professional experience in a world class leading ballet/symphonic/opera orchestra as a 2nd trumpet within the last year.
Demonstrated ability to excel with a range of repertoire including new work.
Educated to a Bachelor of Music (BMus) level or equivalent in music performance.
Ability to adapt to the requirements of the schedule of a touring orchestra.
Experience and ability to sit as Principal Trumpet when required.
Ability to lead by example in managing own learning and continuous professional development to the role.
As part of the recruitment process shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an in-person audition, and will be contacted about this in August. Successful candidates will be invited to attend a paid trial which will begin in Autumn 2024.

The appointment will be under the terms and conditions as they are defined in ENB’s House Agreement with The Musicians’ Union. Salary is pro-rata when needed for rehearsals and performances.
