Stauffer Concertmaster Course

The course is focused on the professional preparation for the role of the Concertmaster of the orchestra. It offers an integrated pathway with intensive study sessions led by Concertmasters of some of the most important orchestras:
- Laura Marzadori (Teatro alla Scala)
- Andrea Obiso (Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia)
- Sheryl Staples (New York Philharmonic)
- Roman Simovic (London Symphony Orchestra)
- Vesko Eschkenazy (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra)
- Anton Barakhovsky (Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks)
- Noah Bendix-Balgley (Berliner Philharmoniker)
- Jiyoon Lee (Staatskapelle Berlin).
The conductors Kolja Blacher and John Axelrod will lead two special sessions aimed at the realization of artistic projects with the Stauffer String Ensemble.
The course will be held from November 2024 to July 2025, with monthly sessions of 4 days each.
Tuition fees are entirely supported by the Stauffer Foundation.
