Production Manager
$45,000 p/year
The Production Manager is responsible for staging requirements, including technical elements and physical conditions for all New Mexico Philharmonic (NMPhil) events in multiple venues.
The Production Manager will be involved in planning the needs for a concert/performance, including coordinating with the venues, planning rentals and other needs according to artists' riders, assessing needed stagehands and hiring sufficient stagehands according to the needs of each performance, and attending to musicians' needs in preparation for and at services to help support the highest possible quality product.
The Production Manager is responsible for the care, maintenance, proper storage, and transportation of NMPhil equipment and instruments and for truck rental. This position supervises stagehands in all venues and has contact with musicians, conductors, guest artists, staff, technical staff, and patrons.
The NMPhil produces 39 programs each season, including but not limited to Saturday evening Classical Series performances at Popejoy Hall, Sunday Afternoon Classics, Friday morning Coffee Concerts, Youth Programming for Albuquerque Public Schools, a Rock and Pops series, collaborations for annual productions of Nutcracker, Messiah, a Spring ballet, and two summer performances for July 4 and Labor Day. In addition to performances, the NMPhil produces a gala, educational ensemble visits to public schools in and around Albuquerque, and auditions as needed.
