Lead the fundraising advancement for a world-renowned orchestra and engage Pittsburgh’s philanthropic community in new and lasting ways.
In partnership with Lindauer, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is seeking a visionary Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer (CDO). This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of one of the world’s leading orchestras, housed at the iconic Heinz Hall in the heart of Pittsburgh's Cultural District.
Working closely with the President and CEO and the Board, the CDO will provide strategic direction and vision to grow the PSO’s donor base, strengthen its financial sustainability, and position the Orchestra for continued success in both regional and global arenas.
This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic, collaborative fundraising leader to shape the future of one of the most celebrated orchestras in the world.
In this role, you will:
• Guide a talented team of 15 development professionals to elevate annual and campaign fundraising.
• Manage a major gifts portfolio, engaging high-level donors and supporting long-term relationship building within the Pittsburgh community.
• Partner with senior leadership and the Board to develop a forward-looking, multi-year fundraising plan to support the PSO’s artistic mission and vision.
• Oversee corporate, foundation, and government fundraising while collaborating closely with the events team to maximize donor engagement.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $220,000 to $270,000.
