Education Manager

Hours: Standard hours are 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, with a 1 hour
unpaid lunch break. Working out with these hours is required on a regular basis. TOIL system is in operation for all members of department as necessary.

Location: Scottish Opera Production Studios, Glasgow

Salary: Grade 1: £32,703.20 - 40,134.35, depending upon experience

We are seeking an experienced Manager for our Education and Outreach Department, a small ambitious team with over 50 year's experience in making ground breaking Opera in Education work.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree standard (MA,B.Ed) or demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and experience in a Management role. An empathy for the art form (of opera) and a belief in the value of expressive arts education is desirable.

You should have excellent organisational skills, report writing, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills and be positive and pro-active.

Your role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities covering office management, oversight of events and liaison with all departments across the organisation. You will also identify and build key partnerships with a particular focus in the world of academia, research and innovation. The organisation is about to launch a new strategy in response to Developing the Young Workforce; the post holder will supervise and expand this strand of activity.

The position is usually based at Scottish Opera’s Production Studios, Edington Street, Glasgow though some hybrid working may be available. Some evening and weekend work will be required as part of the role.
